Cory Butler is a Creative Mind of Many Talents

Whether it's filming or editing, drawing, or writing, Cory Butler excels at them all.
It is a joy for him to take an idea, which originally only he knows, and create a finished product for all to view.  He has the experience and intuition to develop the artwork every step of the way (i.e. writing, storyboarding, filming, editing, creating deliverables). 
Because of this, he is not limited to just a handful of production positions.  His unique gift to play nearly any role is what makes him a true asset in the film and video production world.

Video Production
          Cory Butler has a deep-seeded passion for filmmaking.  He has shown a natural gift for this art form since he purchased his very first camera at age 12.  Training, talent and experience have brought him from a passionate novice to a unique filmmaker capable of performing at a professional level.
          Working with companies such at Lakeshore PBS (Merrillville, Indiana), Clever Monkey Media, and Manteno Public Television, Cory has honed specific skills crucial to 

pre- through post-production.

Art and Design
          Cory Butler was born with a pencil in his hand.  He has been drawing since he was three years old and over the years has become a keen artist able to traverse the style gradient from cartoony characters to likeness portraits.  He graduated from Art Instruction Schools (the same school Charles Schultz creator of "Peanuts" attended) in 2004.
          When it comes to storyboarding, his knowledge about the flow of a film, terminology, cinematography, camera operation, editing and natural artistic talent, allow Cory create storyboards that show precisely what needs to be shot, saving hours in filming and editing time.
          Cory has enjoyed developing his own original characters and illustrating and writing his own comic series.  He has also develop characters and logos for various organizations.
          In addition to his profound two-dimensional talent, Cory Butler has taken up sculpting.  Beginning first with sculpting his favourite cartoon characters out of Play-Doh, Cory has graduated to Sculpey products and has created a variety of products including anniversary and engagement gifts and wedding cake toppers.

Writing
          Cory Butler does not just paint a picture with words; he uses his understanding of plot, pacing and character development to pull you out of your seat and let you walk around through his stories.  While he most thoroughly enjoys fiction, which allows him total control of the story, Cory also has a knack for writing non-fiction, reviews of productions, films and books, original plays and screenplays.  Also, with an unusual passion for English grammar, he is eager to proofread and edit the works or his peers.
          Cory has taken creative writing courses, writing plays and short film scripts, and has had outstanding performance in English courses throughout his academic career, becoming an English Honors student in high school.
